The Ramah Band of Navajos are located in a 250 square miles of a checker boarded place of land in the Northwestern part of New Mexico. The Ramah Navajo Indian Reservation is located 60 miles southeast of Gallup and 63 miles and southwest of Grants. The Ramah Band of Navajos are well-known for their self-determination government system. Within the checker board of the Ramah Navajo's a few different orginzations that supply and support the community members. The Ramah Navajo Chapter with the Navajo Nation is the overlooking the community's government system, the Ramah Navajo Chapter Office of Grants and Contracts is responsible for the supplying the community with the essential services of Funds, Water, Forestry, Realty, Law Enforcement, Housing, Employment and Community Development, the Ramah Navajo School Board, Inc. is responsible for the offering the community with Education, Health, and Employment, the Ramah Navajo Utility Authority is responsible for the community's water system, Navajo Housing Authority is responsible for the housing the community members.
